Tips for writing more contentBy: Guest Author
You want to put up a blog post but you don’t know what to write. Although you may be happy with a post whenever-you-feel-like-it, posting quality content frequently is essential if you really want to be a booming blogger.
Here are some tips that can get you to the publish button faster.
A blogger is essentially a writer, and if you want to write you need to read. As a blogger, it’s important that you create content that’s current and stimulating. Invest in a good book occasionally; read newspapers, magazines, billboards, handouts, brochures and just about anything that has letters on it. Also, read other blogs about your niche. It helps to know what other people are talking about.
Not just TV, but YouTube too. YouTube is the best place to keep up with all the stuff you just must know. What’s the latest buzz? Watch the most popular videos to find out. Subscribe to channels that are relevant to your blog’s niche. It’s a great way to learn more about the trends current events within your niche. Maybe your next big post could be a response or addition to what you watched.
Subscribe to feeds
You can’t get out of this one. If you want to be followed, you need to follow too. It’s a good idea to subscribe to feeds of blogs like yours. Also, it’s probably the easiest way to stay within the genre and keep up with the trending topics.
Do this deliberately. A one-on-one conversation is the richest and most empathetic way to communicate. So next time you find yourself stuck with that creepy guy in the coffee room, don’t pretend to get a phone call; strike up a conversation instead. Who knows, your next blog post may be about coffee room etiquette.
Don’t shy away from an occasional brain deposit. Try this: create a new post on your blog and just keep typing. Don’t stop to correct the typos, grammar or spelling errors. Once you’re done, spend some time editing your draft. If it’s still not good enough pick a few lines that make sense and there’s your inspiration.
Give some credit to your readers. If while writing a post you find yourself completely lost, pull out an interesting comment and write a post about it. It could be a response, addition or just appreciation for the valuable comment shared.
Participate in the Community
Find bloggers in your niche and read about the activities that they do. Now don’t be shy, participate! Say something, anything! Keep it relevant and see how many great ideas you get from responses.
Great content and frequent posting are critical in blogging. If you are really serious about blogging, you need to remember that you are a blogger at all times. It’s a great idea to keep your mind receptive to new ideas or information in all situations and at all places.
